Commercialism in "A Walk in the Woods", by Bill Bryson Please help?
So I read the book and it seems that the park services, logging companies, etc lose more money than earned, is that still commercialism? I don't think it is but a theme of "A Walk in the Woods" is commercialism and I need to write an essay and I'm not sure. Please give examples or explain how commercialism is in "A Walk in the Woods"

Commercialism refers to sales and commerce, business practices in general.
It also refers to capitalism and how capitalism can turn anything and everything into an object and then sell it. This is usually referred to in a negative way.
Whether the logging company has a profit or loss is irrelevant to whether or not it's commercialism. Logging and trying to make a profit off of it is still commercialism.
