would you hire someone with good technical skills but lousy people skills?
If a candidate has good technical skills and wants to be a leader. On the dark side has horrible interpersonal skills and has a documented history (like high %age attrition in the groups the candidate has led)-- would you hire this person to lead a group or be part of a team?
NO. Being part of a team means putting up with others opinion, styles, and ideas..... A true leader does not impose their viewpoints, work ethic, styles on others.... but encourages them to work towards a common goal.... people on / off the team detract from the common goal.
