Cassette Program
What is best way to record an online radio program when they dont provide download files?
I have some favorite radio programs Id like to record for play back on CD or cassette to listen to in my car or at a time of my convenience, but the websites do not provide for a download of the files. Is there any way to record them other than just hold a cassette recorder up to one's speakers?
If the station is broadcasting in MP3 format via Shoutcast (as many do), all you need is an app called Streamripper, which is created especially to capture internet radio as it plays back. You can then split the entire recorded file as you wish, and burn to CD-R so you can take it anywhere, or load it into your MP3 player.
There are at least 3-4 good alternatives to Streamripper out there, so finding one that's compatible wih your PC system should be easy. Look at zdnet.com or download.com for more info.
