How long does it take to train to hold your breath for a long time?

I've read about free divers who hold their breath for over 5 minutes. My goal to be able to hold my breath for 2 minutes while swimming. Would this take a long time? I also want to know how fast this would go away if I didn't practice. I am 15 if that makes a difference.

It all deponds on your body, since you are 15 your body is still growing its not a matter of practice. And it is not trial and error cause if you get to the error your more likely in the hospital. 2 minutes is really long though and your 15 so when you about 19 or 20 you may be able to hold it for 4 or 5 minutes. But please be safe.
