Companion Garrison

without comments

Do you think Garrison Keiler is an advocate/apologist for Christian ideas?

Is Norwegian Lutheranism only used as a source of humor on "A Prairie Home Companion"?

Are there Christian "morals" to his stories? Guy Noir? Lives of the Cowboys? Ketchup Council?

Do you find many references to Unitarian Universalists and Episcopalians?

Is he joking with, chiding, mocking, or evangelizing yuppies?

I find it harmless humor, and sort of an 'inside' joke that is best understood by Protestants.
I was raised as a Methodist, but for the last 14 years I am Orthodox, and I find these jokes funny and refreshing.
Keiler's jokes are an excellent example of someone who is able to laugh at himself, which is a sign of humility.
That's my view on it.

Christ is Born!
Glorify Him!
