How do I get better at self-hypnosis and meditation?
Does anyone have any advice or stories on this topic? How deeply into self-hypnosis/meditation did you go? How do I enter a deep relaxation?
Self-hypnosis and meditation are the skills that improve with time, like a bicycle. Intuitively, I think you push yourself a little too "going deep." Brighten up around the subject and remember that you can start with only 5 minutes once or twice a day. When this becomes easy, increase the time to 8 or 10 minutes. Later, when you're ready, practice more. At first, it helps to use guided meditations or hypnosis CD. You can find low prices on eBay or Google for them. Maybe link the other answerer suggested is good. More than a thousand years, a book was written in India over 100 retailer forms of meditation! What works best for one person may not work so well for someone else. Find a form of meditation that feels right to you. In general, people can easily visualize and imagine themselves in a relaxing environment. Tibetan Buddhists themselves as forms of view the Buddha or other deities. Some people think better by using a sound like a mantra. Other people are body oriented and can meditate on the breath or other body sensations. I can not go into self-hypnosis, except to say it is similar to meditation. This is a physical and mental relaxation and usually focuses on peaceful visual images. Good luck to you.
