Is Red Dragon a prequel to Silence of the Lambs?
Is it worth watching?
Hi i recently watched The Silence of the Lambs(1991). I thought it was a great film. I recently picked up the movie Red Dragon(2002) on dvd. Is this a prequel to Silence and is it worth watching despite the 10 year gap between films?
You could call it a prequel yes, but they made the real prequel too which is about his upbringing. All the Hannibal movies are based off books, and Red Dragon did come before Silence but they filmed them differently not knowing the author had a real prequel in mind apparently. 1986 there was a movie called Manhunter which will make more sense if you watch that then Silence then Hannibal. Red Dragon is worth watching though I'm not saying it isn't they're all good movies and original psychological thrillers.
