Olivia Goldsmith
I'm entering my sophomore year, what titles do you suggest?
I am taking English Honors, Algebra II Honors, and Chemistry Honors, and Psychology just fyi. I would like some reading material to help me through English and Psych especially. Thank you ahead of time 
I have to read these books for English:
-The Once and Future King
-Mists of Avalon
-The Illiad
-They can have relevance to any genre you wish, just tell me what the subject matter is.
-It'd be nice to know some classics that will help me comprehend my summer reading list.
-Please no teen stories unless they are a must read (tell me why I should read them).
-Adult titles would be greatly appreciated (i.e. Olivia Goldsmith)
-I'm currently reading The Hobbit & Her Majesty's Dragon just to have a bit of a base for fantasy novels.
-NO TWILIGHT. . . PLEASE!!!!!
I think I'll stick with giving you fun psychology books, since it looks like everyone else has you covered.
The Brain that Changes Itself: Stories of Personal Triumph from the Frontiers of Brain Science by Norman Doidge
A very positive book about the adaptability of the human brain

An Anthropologist on Mars
Awakenings
All by Oliver Sacks, a prominent neurologist who actually has a gift for writing. The first is my favorite, and is a series of case studies he has encountered in his lengthy career (all without overbearing medical terminology). An Anthropologist on Mars is similar, but I didn't enjoy it quite as much. Awakenings discusses the sleeping sickness (and Parkinson's Disease, which is apparently similar), which he is credited with curing, somewhat. I haven't finished it yet, but it's interesting.
My psychology professor recommended Sybil, which involves Dissociative Identity Disorder, formerly known as Multiple Personality Disorder. I don't know the author off of the top of my head. For an understanding of the Jung personality model, try Please Understand Me or Please Understand Me II (which is a little more in-depth), which have terrible titles, but are interesting in their analysis of personality types.
And I have to mention Neil Gaiman (dark fantasy, usually) and Terry Pratchett (satiric fantasy), who are my favorite fantasy authors. Both write children's books as well, but most of them are worth a read because they don't talk down to you. I don't know how much they'll help you through English, but at least they're fun.
