I just bought M-Audio Fast Track, when i open Garageband and hook up my Nova condenser mic it wont pick it up?
Well, there are two Fast Track USBs and there are quite a few versions of the fast track family. If you bought the older Fast Track USB, there is no phantom power for the mic, so it won't pick up signal until you get something to boost the signal going into the Fast Track. However, if your fast track has phantom power on it, turn it on, make sure that you are getting signal and open garageband. Obviously make sure you have the latest drivers for the device from the M-Audio website so that your operating system recognizes your interface (the fast track).
Make sure that you have the fast track set as your device for input and output in garageband. Select the proper input in garageband (usually input one depending on the model you have), try recording to the armed track and you should be good to go.
As a shot in the dark, if you are using Windows XP Media Center Edition (Not Home or Pro) then the device usually will not work and M-Audio doesn't support the use of that operating system.
