Mortal Prey

My novel sounds like a knockoff of Twilight, Wicked Lovely, Tithe, and the Mortal Instruments Series. HELP!!!?

It's about a girl named, Demi, she lives with her abusive, biblethumping parents in TriBeCa, modern day. She is constantly preyed upon by her father, because she has the eyes of a cat. Her father, literally crazy, attemptes to kill her one day, and she nearly dies.
But someone comes to save her, a woman who goes only by Madam. She comes with a boy named Zayden. They explain to Demi about changelings, the outcasts and orphans of the Fae (changelings are faery children taking the place of a mortal child). Demi goes with them, and discovers that her father was a legendary warrior, sworn to protecting the Fae royals, and that her mother was a mortal.
Blah blah blahm, you get the picture.
There's a huge battle scene close to the end, and lots of little dramatic scenes in between. A little romance here and there, lots of action.

Stay away from reading the same types of books as the one you're writing, because it always ends up sounding like a knock-off. For instance, i'm writing a spy kind of novel and to become inspired I like to read Jane Austen...totally unlike what i'm writing. When i wanted to write a knid of intense love affair story I read Edgar Allan Poe & Philip Pullman's His Dark Materials. To me, it helps bring aspects of other genres to that particular genre.
