How can I become a self-made Billionaire?
My dream in life is to become a Billionaire and live the most extraordinary life in the world. How could this be done in as short amount of time as possible and with only the $20,000 I saved so far?
And no BS comments like inherit it or rob a bank.
First, you will have to defer hopes of the most extra-ordinary life as long as possible. There's a reason why Warren Buffett lives in a 3 bedroom bungalow, drives a domestic mid range sedan and flies on commercial aircraft even though he owns a private jet company. You also have to realize that the amount of money you can set aside for investing early in life will make far more of a difference than the money you can set aside later in life so you must never defer saving on the grounds that you will be making more money later.
As to how to do it, you will have to figure that out yourself and start by reading books from several points of view and find what you're comfortable with. The only constant is to start early and be disciplined, don't get side tracked. Books like "The Intelligent Investor" by Ben Graham and "The Little Book That Beats The Market" by Joel Blatt are about how to identify undervalued companies that are good candidates for investment, books like "Fortune's Formula" by William Poundstone are about the limits of reasonable risk, books like "The Dhandro Investor" by Mohnish Pabrai and "Take Your Money and Run" by Alex Doulis are about an overall methodology. Alex Doulis's book is more about your life while Mohnish's book is more about investment and indeed Alex's view is that you only need to participate, just invest in indexed funds because then you get the maximum benefit for the least effort, Mohnish is about being selective about your investment.
As to a truly banal comment, how about the only true way to be self-made is to go back in time and impregnate your mother.
