How hard is it to tame an iguana?
I have experience with reptiles. I have a king snake and two russian torts, and I am interested in iguanas. Would it be better for me to get a beardie and see how lizards are before I get an iguana?
Depending on the iguana you have a 50/50 chance to "tame" it ... Usually around the age of 3yrs old some iguanas can and may become aggressive towards there owner, sometimes not until breeding season, sometimes can become aggressive when not in breeding season. Iguanas do require a lot of care, handling, UVB, heat, etc and you still only have a 50/50 chance of your iguana tolerating you at it's human slave. Iguanas do need a much larger enclosure then BD do. Iguanas can be a lot of work for some people, specially after they find out all the proper care (not what the pet store tells you type of care).
Bearded Dragons are much more calmer towards the human slave. They do require UVB, heat, proper care also. BD do not show aggression as iguanas can. BD are more known more to be the 1st reptile experience.
I would recommend you reading up on both and figuring out for yourself which one would suit you, after all you are the one whom will be taking care of which ever one you get.
