Frank Stockton
How would you end "The Lady or the Tiger" by Frank Stockton (link inside)?
If you have never had the chance to read this short story you can here: http://www.eastoftheweb.com/short-stories/UBooks/LadyTige.shtml
If you could write the ending what would you write?
In my ending I wrote that the princess gestured toward the door with the tiger. Because of all the statements of her being "semi-barbaric"
I wrote that she didn't want to see her lover in the arms of another and would rather let him die.
But I also wrote that the man in the arena knew what was behind the door. That before he faced the tiger he looked up at the princess and his face let her know that he knew what he was facing. I wrote that he loved the princess enough to face death for her.
That was my ending for a school assignment. Morbid and sad, but it's just what came to mind.
