Cussler Jack
does anyone know if jack dubrul plans on writing another philip mercer book?
he hasnt wrote a book on philip mercer in over 5 yrs he seems to be happy writing under clive cussler name the books were a good read for entertainment
Just about two years ago-- March 14, 2008-- he posted on his fan forum the following:
Hey gang,
I know I've never posted here before, duh!!! I want to say thanks to everone who uses the board and want to answer questions people may have. The new book with Clive is going well. I was wriiting the next Mercer when the publisher said they wanteed another Oregon Files right away and since they pay great, and I enjoy eating and living indoors, I had to put Mercer aside and concentrate on Cabrillo and the gang. I'm sorry I never divulge titles when I'm working - wierd supersticion, don't ask. Anyway, it involves the strange parallels between the Barbary Pirate wars of the early 19th century and today's war on terror. The first thrid went to Clive yesterday so now I sit on pins and needles waiting to hear what he thinks. I'll let you all know when he calls.
And just so you don't worry, I signed a new two book deal with a new publisher, Doubleday, and a crackerjack editor. Very cool. It'll probably be another 18-24 months for another Mercer book, but he'll be back."
So he apparently has some plans to bring Mercer back, but it's already 24 months.
