How to learn how to "logical thinking" and common sense?
I have a strange question, but I asked myself a lot. Whenever I always get comments of people telling me that I need to think more logically and use my common sense. How can I increase these two? All books / exercises / advice?
Logical Thinking - I suggest you read any more books by Dr. Albert Ellis. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Albert_Ellis Among other things, he has a list of a dozen "irrational" (wrongly) thought. Here they are http://www.rebt.ws/albert_ellis_the_essence_of_rebt.htm. You can start by not having such illogical thoughts. (1) The idea that it is an absolute necessity for adults to be loved by everyone for everything they do. (2) The idea that certain acts are awful or wicked, and people who perform such acts must be severely condemned. (3) The idea that it is horrible when things are not how we like them to be. (4) The idea that poverty human is always externally caused and is forced on us by outsiders, and events. (5) The idea that if something is or may be dangerous or fearsome we should be constantly upset and obsessed about it. (6) The idea that it is easier to avoid than face the difficulties of life and self-responsibility (7) The idea that we absolutely need something other or stronger or more large as we build upon. (8) The idea that we should be quite competent, intelligent, and achieving all possible consideration. (9) The idea that because something once strongly affected our lives, it should indefinitely affect it. (10) The idea we must have some control over things and perfect. (11) The idea that human happiness can be achieved by inertia and inaction. (12) The idea that we have virtually no control over our emotions and we can not help but feel disturbed by things. COMMON SENSE - Dr. Alfred Adler (inspiration for Ellis Rational-Emotive Therapy and Aaron Beck's cognitive therapy, Carl Rogers centered Theraepy client, and Abraham Maslow's "Hierarchy of Needs", etc.) a distinction between "common sense" and "private logic." The latter is the internal (Illogical. / wrong) that the reasoning we use to save ourselves and wants and wants first, before anyone else. The result was Adler called a "socially useless." The former is the wisdom of the human community together in the laws and rules, the great religions and philosophies, newspaper editorials, even movies and jokes ... whatever we all agree are good, positive way to get along with others.
